May 1 - Saturday

There were 6 Orange Acres residents that attended the Ship & Shore bus tour to the Broadway Palms Dinner Theatre today in Fort Myers. We saw the comedy "Love, Sex And The I.R.S" in the Off Broadway Theatre. It is the first time most of us had been in this little theatre. We enjoyed the regular buffet and the play was outstanding.

May 4 - Tuesday

There were 55 at coffee this morning. Many raised their hands when asked who would be leaving this week.

It was good to have Alma back with us this morning. She probably hadn't been to coffee since December.

May 11 - Tuesday

Here is the great pancake crew that did such a great job this morning. In front, from left Bobbi Holden Grace Sherry Audrey Young, Marti Gauthier and in back Ward Young, Ed Schattschneider and Mary Lou Lira Our president, Ed Marian led the meeting of 44 for the last time until he returns in September.

Our current Sunshine lady, Judy Marian, has been doing a fantastic job but will also be leaving on Wednesday. It was so good to see Clyde Radel back with us this morning. Clyde spends most of the year in campgrounds across the nation living the life he and Peg love.

Memorial Day Service

Charlie Parkes organized our first Memorial Day service which was held in the park by the gazebo today at 11 am. There was a good turnout on this beautiful summer day.

Both Greg Ferritto and Anne Hubert participated in the service.

Larry Stine rang the bell as the names of the Orange Acres veterans who have passed on were read.

Pot Luck

Anne Hubert welcomed the residents and friends to the Memorial day pot luck at 6 pm in the clubhouse. There were 50 in attendance that enjoyed the great selection of fine foods.
