April 2 - Thursday

There were about 90 at the potluck tonight.
 
Chairperson Joan Russell welcomed the crowd to the dinner. "BC" Hathaway did a great job entertaining us with his great variety of music.

April 7 - Tuesday

There were 93 at coffee this morning. People are starting to leave for the summer.
 
Jeff Warrington talked to the group this morning. He presented Edna Mongeau with a check for $500 for her help with the sale of a home.

April 13 - Monday

This is the caravan of vehicles headed for Myakka State Park today at 11 am We unloaded our bikes at the parking lot close to the new concession building.
   
We rode first to the bridge over the Myakka River and observed many alligators. From here we went to the canopy walk and back to the concession area for our picnic. This trip was 5 miles total.
   
There were 13 riders and one 3 year old passengar.    
This is most of our group in the canopy walk area. The weather today was perfect for bike riding. Here we are under the canopy walk. Eight of us then rode to the bird walk and back for another 3 miles.

April 14 - Tuesday

There were 76 at the coffee hour this morning. It is true, the snowbirds are heading north.
 
Mary Ryman introduced Lois Weaverling from Chambersburg, PA. Lois bought 72 Loren Dr.

April 21 - Tuesday

There were 73 at coffee this morning. Our numbers are decreasing rapidly.
 
Jeff Warrington presented Dick & Peggy Killinger with a check for $500 for their help with a home sale.
 

April 25 - Saturday

There were 16 from Orange Acres that went on the bus trip to Broadway Palm to see "The Wedding Singer" today. The play and the food were great. It was also nice to see Tom and Pat Myers also on the trip. Today was Tom Myers' Birthday.

April 27 - Monday

There were 22 at the last beach party of the season today. The weather was wonderful.
 
As usual the food was great. Gene Mathes led everyone in a sing-a-long.

April 28 - Tuesday

There were 69 at the coffee hour today.
