March 1 - Saturday

Here are the Anniversary cakes which most didn't get to see. Moe Warrington opened the party with prayer.

Jason Warrington filled in as the MC because his brother Jeff took sick this morning. He introduced the entertainment as someone we all know. Then to our surprise in walked Flora Flamingo who tried to do the entertaining. She was quickly run out.

In the back room was found Patti Highland bound and gagged obviously by Flora Flamingo. Once Patti recovered she put on a great show for us as we enjoyed a wonderful lunch.

Jeff and Jason's children joined in the festivities. They helped Jason with the drawing for the door prizes.

Many introductions were made and Moe Warrington showed the history of Orange Acres in pictures. The long time residents were recognized and a drawing among the longest timers was won by Dottie LaLonde. She received a gift certificate for $500

March 3 - Monday

There were 5 people that took the bike ride to the mall today. In front are Jim Lessard, Bob LePosa, and Bob's son Rob. In the back are Lorraine Labonte and Gene Mathes. It was a perfect day for a bike ride. We are shown here in the food court right after lunch.

March 4 - Tuesday

There were 130 at coffee this morning.

It was state t-shirt day and a count was made of where everyone came from. This year New York had the most.

March 6 - Tuesday

There was a good crowd of about 110 people at the Fish Fry tonight.

Jim Pierce and Tim Pritchard (from the Country Gospel Jamboree) put on an excellent show. The people seemed to like them very much.

March 11 - Tuesday

There were 112 at coffee this morning.

President Mike Delaney showed pictures of his great fishing catches. Is that real? Gladys and Paul Lumsden were introduced this morning as new residents.

Grand winners were Joan Collins who won this afghan donated by Eleanor Thorensen.

And Gladys Bowman who won the his and hers watches.

Many of us saw these two baby Sandhill Cranes in the park for the first time today. It was probably their first day out.

March 25 - Tuesday

There were 118 at coffee this morning. Following coffee we had the new King & Queen coronation.

Earle Brennan provided the mood music for the event. The present King & Queen Ralph & Phyllis Haas entered as the attendees rose in their honor.

The Orange Blossoms provided special music.

King Ralph & Queen Phyllis were seated along with the past Kings and Queens.

The present King and Queen were presented with an Achievement of Appreciation certificate for their work the last year. King Ralph escorted the new Queen Anlee Welker to the platform.

Queen Phyllis escorted the new King Gene Mathes to the platform. The new King & Queen were presented with their robes.

And then they were crowned by the former King & Queen. We present King Gene and Queen Anlee.

King Gene was given the keys to the kingdom and Queen Anlee was presented roses. They were both given the appropriate signs for their front yard. Everyone had the opportunity to congratulate them in the receiving line.

March 31 - Monday

There were 58 at the snowbird picnic today at Twin Lakes Park. We started out with a fun time just visiting.

We also took lots of pictures of each other Plenty of hors d'oeuvres were available before the meal.

There was lots of great food. Some cooked their own.

It was too windy for the first game. The wind moved the balls more than the fans did.

The pass-the-orange is always fun to watch and fun to do.

It can sometimes get quite interesting. And sometimes very intimate.

Pass-the-lifesaver is fun but a lot less exciting. Some people get very serious about it.

The balloon toss creates a lot of excitement. Here is a once-in-a-lifetime shot just as the balloon breaks.
