January 1 - Tuesday

There were 75 at coffee this morning.
 


January 3 - Thursday

Put luck Chairperson, Joan Kapp, Welcomed the crowd tonight. Gene Mathes had the opening prayer.
   
There were 66 in attendance at the first pot luck of the season tonight.  
   
The entertainment tonight was the Irish dancers from "Drake School of Irish Dance."  

January 8 - Tuesday

There were 131 at coffee this morning. That is the most we have had this year.  
   
Following the coffee hour Jeff Warrington Talked to us concerning new plans and programs in the community. A plaque was presented to the residents of Orange Acres to identify the Living Water statue displayed in the hall. Accepting the plaque are Gene Mathes, left and Pat & Tom Myers, right.
   
Jeff explained the incentive program developed to reward those helping to sell homes in the community. Jason showed up with his pet flamingo which really caused a commotion.

January 15 - Tuesday

There were 106 at the pancake breakfast this morning.

January 17 - Thursday

This is really not a fishing party just fountain repair at the central pond.  
   
There were about 110 at the Ice Cream Social at the clubhouse tonight. I movie was shown following the social. The line moved quickly and the treat was great.
   
Here they are finally get their ice cream. This is the fantastic crew that did the serving.

January 19 - Saturday

Here are some shots of the Cedar Cove Dance that was held at Orange Acres on Saturday Night. Thanks to Lorraine Labonte for the pictures.

     
     
     

January 21 - Monday

Gene Mathes had a good comment appear in the Business Weekly section of the Herald-Tribune on page 8 today. Click here to see the article.

 

There were 125 at the Mid Day Madness today  
 
Singer Steve Jeffris provided a great show as he always does. Steve auditioned these four guys for a new back-up group. They are Reg Tays, Hugh Spinney, Dave Burrows and Bob Brunnell.
 
  The actual audition in progress. Chairperson Pat Tays welcomed the group.
 
Our own Joe Stump provided the blessing for the meal. Earl Brennen provided some organ music during the meal.
 
Steve joined with us for the meal from Chick-fil-a.  

January 22 -Tuesday

There were 113 at coffee this morning.  
   
Caroline Turner introduced new residents Terri & Bob Jordan, lot 209. Mary Ryman introduced new resident Joe Staton, lot 232.
   
Jeanine Crepeau and Betsy Chase are shown here selling tickets to the Ladies Luncheon which will be February 22. Earle Brennan is selling tickets to the Men's Luncheon on February 18.

January 25 -Friday

There were 113 people at the fiftieth anniversary party tonight at the clubhouse.  
   
Earl Brennen provided organ music before the festivities began. Orange Acres president and chairman of the anniversary party welcomed the guests.
   
Party organizer Anne Hubert was emcee for the evening. Those honored at the event were, from left to right, Armand & Gerry Strangis, Hans & Karla Liebenau, and Bob & Charlene Sherman.
   
The Orange Blossoms entertained with two songs. Caroline Turner read the profiles of those honored.
   
Pat Myers had some humorous stories to tell about marriages. These are the wedding pictures that were on display.

January 28 -Monday

There were twelve Orange Acres residents in attendance at the beach party today. The weather was cool but sunny. Here is Mike Delaney cooking up a well done hamburger for Annlee.
   
After the meal we had our regular sing-a-long led by Gene Mathes.  

January 29 -Tuesday

There were 126 at coffee this morning.  
   
Don & Phyllis Mann received a $500 check from Jeff Warrington for their participation in the sale of a home. The annual homeowner's meeting was held this morning. The board members shown from left are Greg Ferritto, Phyllis Haas, Hugh Spinney, Ray Bergeron, Joe Stump, Marge Phelan, Caroline Turner and president Tom Myers. Marj Dunn was absent.
