February 4 -Monday

There were seven riders that went on the bike ride to the Sarasota Square Mall today. They are from left, Tom Studer, Jody Phinney (Joan Kapp's Daughter) Bob Leposa, Ralph Haas, Becky Ciraulo, Jim Lessard and Gene Mathes
 
The group was joined by Joan Kapp and Mary Lessard for lunch in the food court.

February 5 -Tuesday

There were 108 at coffee this morning.  
   
First State Bank representatives spoke about their facilities. From left to right was Michael Evans, Vice President and Financial Advisor, Linda Fasanelli, Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager and Mary Scavelli, Assistant Branch Manager. Pat Tays was a drawing winner of a $25 Publix gift certificate.
   
Bob Brunnell won a basket of goodies. Jan Thomas also won a basket of goodies.

February 7 -Thursday

There were 113 at the potluck tonight. They enjoyed the fine entertainment of Jimmy Jay and his group

February 12 -Tuesday

There were 103 at coffee this morning.
 
Mary Ryman interviewed new resident Charles Miller.

February 16 -Saturday

Early this morning the hall is ready for the customers of our flea market. Everything is set and neatly placed and labeled with the prices.
   
The baked goods are all set out. The customers are anxiously awaiting the doors to open at 9 am.
   
When they are finally let in they fill up the hall for four hours of mad shopping.  

February 18 -Monday

There were about 55 men that attended the Men's luncheon at Sun & Fun resturant today.  
   
Chairman Earle Brennen welcomed the crowd and introduced our speaker. Colonel Jack Paschal II Commander of the 202nd RED HORSE Squadron, Florida Air National Guard, on the right was the speaker. With him was SGT. Derek Willman on the left. Colonel Paschal showed slides and described his duties while in Iraq.
   
This lamp was donated by Joe Stump as the main door prize and was won by Ray Bergeron. Orange Acres gift certificates were won by Ward Young, Jim Jaeger and Lee Turner.  

February 19 -Tuesday

There were 117 at coffee this morning. It was reported that the flea market on Saturday took in $2903.80.  

February 21 -Thursday

FUN WHIST PARTY  was held tonight and hosted by Hugh and Faye Spinney. There were  60 in attendance.  Prize winners were, from right to left, Armand Strangis, Jeannine Crepeau, Mary Lessard, Rose Leslie, Jean Miller, Eileen O'Brien, Pat Myers, Wayne Steinbaugh,  and Ward Young with scores l06 - 111
 

February  22 - Friday

The Orange Acres ladies met at Sunnyside Village for their luncheon today. Jeanine Crepeau and Lorraine Labonte were the chair persons for this event. The performer, shown in the last picture, was Nancy Seibert.
       
       

February  25 - Monday

There were 26 at the beach party today. The weather was perfect but parking was a problem. Some who came late had to go back home and miss the great time.  
   
After the meal Gene Mathes again led the group in a sing-a-long.  

February 26 - Tuesday

There were 112 at coffee this morning  
   
Jeff Warrington spoke to the group this morning about a number of items. He presented the new signs to go along with the incentive program for obtaining new buyers. The "Card Carrying Crony" signs and "Birds of a Feather" signs will be placed in front of homes when residents achieve this goal.
   
His nemesis Flora Flamingo made an unexpected appearance and provided her own gifts to the "Birds Of A Feather" members. Here "Birds of a Feather" members Ward & Audrey Young, left, and Jean and Mike Delaney, right, receive special Flamingo gifts. Jeff also received a little Flamingo Beanie Baby from Flora Flamingo.
