August 4 - Monday

We are having our regular summer afternoon rains. It rained over two inches today and see what it did to our pond.

August 5 - Tuesday

There were 31 at the coffee hour this morning,

August 6 - Wednesday

We had a great pizza party tonight at the clubhouse. Lots of great pizza of all different kinds.

There were 41 in attendance and everyone got filled and of course the fellowship was great.

There was also a good supply of soft drinks and salad. The coordinator, Marj Dunn had to miss it because she is in the hospital with a broken leg. Following the pizza most stayed for the movie.

August 12 - Tuesday

There were 33 at the pancake breakfast this morning. Phil Frommholz, sales consultant from Hughes Exterminators stopped by and gave away two pancake breakfasts. They were won by Gene Mathes and Mary Lou Lira. Thanks Phil.

The great pancake crew were: Ward & Audrey Young, Charlie Parkes, Grace Sherry, Bobbie Holden, Marti Gauthier and Ed Shattschneider.

August 17 - Sunday

Gene Mathes is in Ohio this week visiting his family. While there, he went to the Jersey Baptist Church in Pataskala, Ohio with Gene and Pam Rickles. Gene also ate lunch with them and spent some time at their home in Granville, Ohio. Gene will return to Orange Acres Monday evening, just in time for the storm. August 19 - Tuesday

A mandatory evacuation was issued last evening for Orange Acres because of storm "Fay". Many residents left the park and some spent the night in the clubhouse. It is now 11 am on Tuesday and there has been little wind and so far no rain. The storm is east of us and should now be no threat. The sun is trying to peek through the clouds.

There were 25 at the coffee hour today. I again forgot to take pictures. Maybe I will remember better when the president again takes over on September 23.

August 25 - Monday

We had 10 at the pool party this afternoon. Perfect weather for the pool.

And the eating and fellowship was good too.

After the meal we all enjoyed the sing-a-long.

August 26 - Tuesday

There were 33 at coffee this morning.

It was good to have our sunshine lady 'Marti' back with us today. Last week she had vacated the park because of the hurricane warning and missed the coffee hour.
