April 29 - Tuesday

There were 98 at coffee this morning. The hands raised are the 30 that will be going north within the next week.
 
Jason Warrington stopped by to make an award presentation for the help with the sale of an Orange Acres home. The award of $500 was presented to resident Phil Swain.

April 28 - Monday

There were 24 at the last beach party of the season held at Siesta Key Beach today.
 
There was a great variety of food and free hot dogs for everyone.
 
We had a great time fellowshipping together. After the meal Gene led us in a sing-a-long and entertained with some solos.
 
Everyone had a great time singing.

April 22 - Tuesday

There were 95 at the coffee hour this morning. We had our last 50-50 drawing of the season this morning. The Red Hat ladies bought the donuts for us this morning. Thank you ladies!
 
Mary Ryman introduced Natalie Davis who has purchased 231 Jason which is where Nancy and Ralph Bush used to live. Her brother, Phil Swain lives next door to her. Mary also introduced John Pugh and Baileen Dodd who have purchased 195 Shelly Lane. They are now engaged but they haven't set a wedding date yet.
 
She then introduced Mary and Richard Killinger who bought 31 Jeffrey Drive. They want to be called Dick and Peggy. Peg's mom, Mary Cowan, has the place right next door.
 
Jeff Warrington dropped by to present awards to residents who helped sell homes.
   
Mary Cowan was presented a $500 check for bringing her daughter and husband to Orange Acres. Dick and Karen Raaske will also receive a $500 check for a home sale.

April 15 - Tuesday

There were 100 at coffee this morning.

April 11 - Friday

This new home was brought to lot 54 today.

April 10 - Thursday

There were 84 people at the pot luck tonight.
 
Hostess Gladys Bowman welcomed the people and Earle Brennen provided the blessing. We were entertained tonight by Sam Lane, a blind pianist and extremely talented individual. Everyone enjoyed him.

April 9 - Wednesday

This is a photo of the group that attended Wednesday's Historic Spanish Point tour hosted by Docent Dad (Oris O'Daniel).

There were 94 at the coffee hour this morning.
 


April 7 - Monday

There were three of us that took the bike ride to the mall today. From left are Ralph Haas, Gene Mathes and Jim Lessard. We rode about 1½ miles on the new bike trail. Here is a shot of the bike trail at Central Sarasota Parkway looking north. That is Ralph and Jim in the distance.

April 2 - Wednesday

There were at least 16 people at the pool today when this picture was taken. Great weather lately for the pool time.
