This
is the Craft & Hobby Show held at the clubhouse today from 9 am till 2
pm. |
Almost
all of the Christmas items donated to the flea market were sold today. |
There
was an abundance of great baked goods sold. Lots of people took
advantage of the lunch provided too. |
There
were 90 at coffee this morning. |
There
were 27 from Orange Acres took the Ship & Shore Christmas Radiance
Tour today. The bus was full with 54 total. We first had supper at
Dutch Heritage. |
We
then had a bus tour of the lights around Sarasota. |
We
were invited to the Ship & Shore home base for hot punch and cookies. |
We
then resumed the light tour until about 9 pm. There are lots of
great light displays in Sarasota. |
(Thanks to Shirley Tatlock for the pictures)
There were about 137 turned out for our annual Christmas Party tonight at the hall.
Charlie
Parkes & Grace Sherry did the song "Baby It's Cold Outside". |
Bob
Beauregard and Adele O'Connell performed "Santa Baby". |
Our
little boy Armand Strangis sang "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two
Front Teeth". |
Irene
and Tony Zarrillo Sang "Winter Wonderland". |
This
quartet made up of Jim Lessard, Edie Hohler, Beverly Whiterell and
Joan Kapp performed "Silver Bells". |
And
here is the entire ensemble. |
After
one and a half hours of caroling we all returned to the clubhouse
where Ward and Audrey Young had hot chocolate and cookies waiting
for us. |
Here
are the luminaries throughout Orange Acres tonight. |
There
were a lot more than in the previous few years. |
Lots
of residents put them out in front of homes that were not presently
occupied. |
It
was a beautiful evening and many got to stroll the community to see
the lights and luminaries. |
There
were 60 at the Christmas dinner this afternoon. |
Chairperson,
Marj Dunn welcomed the group. |
Earle
Brennen provided great Christmas music as we gathered together. |
As
always the food layout was really good. |
And
look at that desert table. Fantastic! |
Here
are the gifts brought for the Yankee Swap which followed the meal. |
Most
people kept the gifts that they opened. |
But
there were quite a few that traded for something better. |
