December 1 - Friday

We learned all about 'Bio Sand Filters' today. They are another way to provide safe drinking water.

This is real outdoor cooking.

Here is the second well that Moe helped drill. It was in July, 2005. Here is a typical woman carrying her load with her daughter learning behind her. Women always carry loads on there heads. Men never do.

December 2 - Saturday

Here Caroline Turner, Audrey Young and Mary Ryman are waiting for the craft fair to begin.

Last night we stayed at the Shalom Children's Home. This is a great Christian project for El Salvador.

I was given a great tour of the home today by Robin Graves, shown here decorating with the children.

Don & Rose Ann Benner created and still operates this home for abused and abandoned children of El Salvador. There are currently 72 children here. I got to meet many of the kids and fell in love with every one of them.

There were about 120 at the Christmas Party tonight. Santa made his appearance here.

Before Santa arrived, Gene Mathes led everyone in singing great Christmas songs. Dick Vierus and Gene Mathes had everyone join in on a rousing rendition of "Twelve Days Of Christmas."

Irene Zarrillo did a great job of organizing the party. Santa and his two elves passed out gifts to all who attended.

December 17 - Sunday

There were 33 singers that came out tonight for the Christmas Caroling. Dick Vierus led the group and accompanied the singing along with Gene Mathes . There were 12 golf carts donated for the evening to transport the singers to those that got entertained.

Everyone had a great time singing. The weather was perfect and those that got serenaded really enjoyed it.

After the singing we all came back to the clubhouse for hot chocolate and cookies.

December 18 - Monday

There were 18 at the beach party today. That is not counting the bird on top waiting for food. The grills were hot and the weather was mild.

Great food was enjoyed by all except the birds. Gene Mathes led a sing-a-long of Christmas songs.

December 19 - Tuesday

There were 103 at coffee this morning. It was a full and exciting morning.

Ward young introduced retired Lt. Dave Hart as the speaker after coffee. Dave talked about crime prevention. It was a very interesting and informative talk.

At 10 am Rev. Bill Corristan, pastor of St. John's United Methodist Church conducted a memorial service for Liz Bond who passed away on Thursday December 14. Bill was Liz's pastor. This picture collage was on display at the service. Many good things were said about Liz today.

This new Christmas decoration was made available to us by Jeff Warrington. Thanks Jeff.

December 24 - Sunday

The Luminaries were beautiful tonight. This is looking north at Tammy Drive and Jeffrey Circle. There wasn't even enough breeze to blow out candles. This is the south end of Jason Drive.
