were 79 at coffee this morning. Lots of people have already left for the summer.
For all you folk who already miss us (!) we are home in Ohio. As you can see, we don't have the nice blue sky we have been used to for six months, but everywhere is lush and green. Gene has been busy cleaning up the back yard and burning trash. Miss you all.

Sharpe took this picture today of the work on rebuilding the retaining wall
along the south side of the North Lake behind Tom & Pat Myers' home. It was a good thing to do while the water is
so low.
Today
was Alma Hallums' 92nd birthday. John and Doreen Gibbons treated Alma to a ride
around town in the convertible with the top down. They first went to Turtles
Restaurant and then a walk at Siesta Key Beach.

new retaining wall on the North Lake is about completed. It looks nice.
There
were 52 at coffee this morning. We finally got some rain today. It was
cloudy and rainy all day.
Some
neighbors got together tonight for a birthday party for these three
neighbors. They are Bob Eastman, Gene Mathes and Lou Walton. They all
three had a birthday the second half of May.
There
were 22 residents enjoying the pool party this afternoon in spite of
the cloudy weather and occasional drizzle. |
Twenty
stayed for the meal. Gene Mathes led a song-a-long afterwards. |
There
were 41 at coffee this morning.
We
had 48 in attendance at the Memorial Day potluck tonight.
Liz
Bond showed up with the most patriotic get-up. |
Gene
Mathes was treated with a birthday cake, this being his birthday. |

was a lot of food. This shows the damage that we did to it. |
