March 2 - Thursday

There were about 140 at the pot luck tonight. The pot luck was a huge success and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.  As always, the food was delicious and the tables were beautifully decorated.

Chairperson Nancy Bush welcomed the people. Kent Armstrong opened with prayer.

The chairperson was Nancy Bush (seated) and hostesses were (from L to R) Jeanne Miller, Pam Rickels, Ramona Armstrong, Charlene Sherman, Rickie Gabbard, Marge Freeman. Anne Huber was the emcee for the evening.

Entertainment by the Kitchen Band Charlie Parks told some cute jokes

Music by Jim Lessard, Dick Vierus, Gene Mathes and Tony Zarrillo Hugh and Faye Spinney, Dick and Alice Vierus, gave us plenty to laugh about.

March 7 - Tuesday

There were 145 at coffee this morning. It was State T-Shirt Day and those standing are the ones that wore a shirt from their home state. The roll was then taken with the following results: 1st place - New York with 30, Second place - Michigan with 25, Third place - Ohio with 15. Only 19 states were represented. Canada and England were the only other countries represented.

Celebrating the T-shirt day were the four Brits.  Realizing that England is not the 51st state, mind you, but quite important to (from L to R) Doreen Gibbons, Pam Rickels, Olive Pullman and Alma Hallums, who also have a great love for their adopted states.

March 8 - Wednesday

The annual Ladies Tea was held this afternoon with 100 ladies attending. They all looked beautiful in their fine outfits.

Chairperson Faye Spinney welcomed everyone and later handled the auction. The tea is ready with Lorraine Labonte and Joan Russell pouring.

Dave Cruise (Dave Walworth) did a great job with his Tom Jones impersonation. But who was this party crasher?

March 11 - Saturday

Saturday about 2 P.M. after catching a 10 inch small mouth bass off the pond bridge, I caught this 20inch approx 4# large mouth bass. Ken Russell was my witness and Alice took the pictures, after which I released the big guy back into the pond, but not before I named him "Ole Mo". If someone wishes to rename the fish they should catch him in order to do that .. Joe Stump

The days are now in the 80's and each day there are more and more people at the pool.

March 14 - Tuesday

There were 123 at coffee this morning.

At the business meeting, which followed the coffee hour, the new by-laws were approved and the new officers for the 2006 - 2007 term were elected. The following officers will assume their offices November 1, 2006. They are: Pat Myers - President, Mike Delaney - Vice President, Joan Kapp - Treasurer and Ramona Armstrong - Recording Secretary. These offices are now one year terms.

March 16 - Thursday

There were about 90 people that attended the wiener roast tonight at the clubhouse. The wieners were great thanks to our great chefs Hugh Spinney and Ralph Bush.

The wiener roast was great and a fun time. Thanks to all those who volunteered to make it a success.

March 18 - Saturday

The Sports Day was a big success today. Here are the helpers selling tickets for some of the games and prizes.

There was a good crowd on hand all morning.

Lots of great games were available for you to test your skills.

Everyone had a great time competing for the prizes. We couldn't have had a more perfect day.

March 21 - Tuesday

There were 127 at coffee this morning.

Mary Ryman introduced Claudette Aubin this morning. Claudette bought the home at 70 Loren Drive.

March 25 - Saturday

Some of the Orange Acres residents took a bus trip to the Broadway Palm Dinner theatre in Ft. Myers to see the play Oklahoma today. Here are a few of the ones that took the trip.

Shuffle Board is still going strong on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday at 1 pm Even though the day was cool, the shufflers still do their thing.

March 27 - Monday

There were 65 at the 2nd annual Snowbird Picnic today at Twin Lakes Park. This is the last event of the season to say good-by to the snowbirds. We had a great time with the karaoke machine provided by Jim & Mary Lessard.

Among the games was "Pass The Orange" which could get out of hand. Then there was the potato race which got a lot of laughs.

A race using a fan to propel a plastic ball was done by almost everyone. Of course there was the water balloon toss which could prove messy.

The chairperson of this great event, Annlee Welker, finally took a much deserved rest in the sun.

March 28 - Tuesday
