There
were four fine gentlemen rode their bicycles to the Sarasota Square Mall on this
very beautiful day. They were, left to right, Tom Studer, Jim Lessard, Gene
Mathes and Ralph Bush. They are shown here enjoying a wonderful lunch together.
Ralph's wife Nancy met them for lunch and she is taking the picture.
There
were 123 residents at the coffee-hour this morning. Most people had returned
from the holidays and in spite of the increase over last week there was only one
donut left!! Good planning by the crew. Us Ohioans enjoyed the Buckeye music
which Anlee Welker played on the way to the podium. What a great football game.
GO BUCKS!
There
were about 131 attending the Men's Pot Luck tonight at 6 pm. The food was great
and the fellowship was wonderful.

had good music and great jokes to keep us laughing. |
There
were 129 at coffee this morning. It is nice to see the crowd growing again.

The
speaker this morning was Mervin Kennell from "Suncoast Professional Fire
Fighters and Paramedics" to inform us of the need for more fire Stations in this
area.
There
were 28 neighbors and friends of Alice Vierus and Joan Kapp that helped them
celebrate their birthdays together at Turtles restaurant today.

party was continues at the clubhouse with cake and ice cream and reading
their birthday cards. |
At the Fun Whist Party tonight, hosted by Hugh Spinney & Ralph Bush there were 68 players. Coffee by Jim Lessard and cookies from the OA Cookie Fairies. We gave out $68 in prizes including a $5 door prize won by Phyllis Haas.
The prizes for playing whist were as follows: Left
to right, Faye Spinney, Phil Moffitt $9 with scores of 110; Pauline
Yoder $4 with a score of 107; Ray Bergeron, Phyllis Haas $2 with scores of 106;
Charlie Parks $9 with a scores of 110; Jean Delaney $2 with a score of 106; Mary
Ryman (not shown) $7 with a score of 109. The grand winner was Lorraine Labonte
$13 with a score of 112.
They
enjoyed the entertainment at the outdoor tables while eating. |
Before
starting back they got a good look at the beautiful and quite large
sculpture entitled "Unconditional Surrender". |

Many
people participated in the line dancing too. |
Charlie
Johnson from Cedar Cove also did some great songs on his instrument. |

Bond from Orange Acres won the grand prize of brand new Stetson cowboy hat. |

Today
was the first Mid-Day Madness at Orange Acres. It was a great success with 150
attending. A catered meal followed the entertainment.

Vierus did a great job as the master of ceremonies. |
Everyone
enjoyed Steve Jeffris with his great music and comedy. |

Spinney did a fantastic job of helping Steve with his sound effects. |

were 128 attended the pancake breakfast this morning. |

were 13 Orange Acres residents took the bus trip to St. Petersburg to have
lunch on the Starlite Princess. |

were 19 at the Beach Party today. The day started out cool with rain but the
sun came out by lunchtime. |

149 residents enjoyed coffee, donuts and a
very informational meeting this morning.
