September 5 - Monday

There were 48 present for the Labor Day potluck tonight. As usual there was a lot of great food and good fellowship.

The abundance of good food is always outstanding. After the meal, Tex Mathes and his trusted sidekick Thumper Zarrillo entertained the group. Mathes played his QChord and Zarrillo played the base tub.

Finally the two story part was covered and this shows the office area being finished.

September 6 - Tuesday

There were 48 at coffee this morning. No snowbirds have returned yet. Our chaplain Jim Jaeger led us in prayer this morning for the victims of hurricane Katrine.

September 13 - Tuesday

September 19 - Monday

It looks like Jane Finley's home is about ready to move into. Even the grass is green and ready for mowing.

September 20 - Tuesday

There were 57 at coffee this morning. The snowbirds have started to return.

Mary Ryman introduced new residents Jimmy and Louise Johnson this morning. The Johnsons reside at 141 Shirley Drive. Mary also introduced new resident Marjorie Brumbalow who lives at 116 Jeffrey Circle.

September 26 - Monday

This is a picture of Audrey & Ward Young on the left and Marj Dunn and Bob Eastman on the right enjoying their Alaskan cruise with the Super Senior group from Faith Baptist Church.

Today was the final pool party of the season. There were 15 residents attended. Here they are playing with their toys in the pool.

Here is Joan Kapp, Ward Young and Tony Zarrillo cooking their food. It is always more comfortable eating in the air-conditioned hall. After the meal, Gene Mathes led the group in singing the old songs.

September 27 - Tuesday

There were 40 at coffee this morning. Vice President Pat Myers took over for President Gene Mathes who was on the bus trip.

These are a few of the ten Orange Acres residents that went on the bus trip today to Orlando to see the Arabian Nights dinner show.

The show was excellent and so was the meal.

September 30 - Friday

There were about 250 at the first Super Seniors program in the new Faith Baptist Church on east Fruitville road today.  There were 27 from Orange Acres, which amounts to over 10%. The girls doing 'The Andrews Sisters' performed for the group.
