There
were seven residents took the Bike Ride to the Mall today. They were Ralph &
Phyllis Haas, Ralph Bush, Gene Mathes, Jim Lessard and Lorraine & George
Labonte. The day was great but a little Breezy. We are planning a 10 1/2 mile
trip to Bay front Park at 10 am on March 15. Contact Gene Mathes if you are
interested in going.

Ward
Young had a surprise birthday party at Sam Seltzer's and then cake and ice cream
at Vierus's for his 70th birthday today.

There
were 142 at coffee this morning in spite of the fact that twenty residents went
on a bus trip at 7:15 this morning.

Mary
Ryman introduced Kay Gyenes this morning. Kay live at 84 Loren Drive. She has
two boys, one girl, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Most of
them live in this area. Kay worked 19 years as a telephone operator.
Nancy Bush introduced Robert and Arlene Chesnut. Only Arlene was here for the
introduction. The Chesnuts live at 12 Jeffrey Drive.

There
were 121 on hand for the fish fry tonight served up by Walt's Fish Market. The
food was great and no one went away hungry.

There
were about 50 at the Jamboree in the Park held today at 2 pm. The weather
couldn't have been better.

There
were 165 at coffee this morning. This was the most yet this year.

A board meeting took place right after coffee. Here Gene Mathes, Don Matteson,
Bob Wiskeman Joan Kapp Tom Myers and Ila Meehan are awaiting Anne Hubert and
Gladys Bowman to start the meeting.

The
last vesper choir practice of the season was held at Ruth Joy Moffitt's home
today because the hall was being decorated for the ladies tea. This shows the
choir practicing on her lanai.

There
were 118 ladies at the Ladies tea today at 2 pm. There were exhibits of crafts
and hobbies provided by the ladies available for all to see beforehand.

There were 11 at the square dance lessons tonight. Eight danced, two watched and
one taught. It was a lot of fun.

There were seven made the bike trip to Bayfront Park today. They were Dave
Walworth, Jim Lessard, Tom Studer, Ralph Bush, Gene Mathes, George Labonte and
Ken Russell. The day was cloudy which made the 21 mile round trip easier. We
left Orange Acres at 10 am and returned at 1:45. We had a fine lunch at
Oleary's.

Gene
Mathes held a planning meeting at the clubhouse today at 2 pm to set up the
committees and chairpersons for next season. Gene baked 9 1/2 dozen homemade
chocolate-chip cookies for the more than 50 attendees to share. Pat & Tom
Myers also brought cookies and some punch. Jim Lessard served coffee. Most of
the committees and their chairpersons were selected and should be posted by
Tuesday at coffee.

Nancy
Bush Introduced new residents Amos and Marie Yoder who live at lot #58. They
have been married for six years. Both are widowed. Marie has three children and
Amos has two. They have nine grandchildren between them. Amos has an
interest in Yoder's Restaurant and works there three to four evenings a week as
a host.
