February 2 - Monday

There were 142 at coffee this morning.

February 4 - Wednesday

Tuesday Feb.3, Ralph Haas scored a HOLE IN ONE on the first hole, 146 yards, at Gulf Gate Golf Club. He is a regular participant with the Tuesday Golf Group from Orange Acres.

There were 56 men at the men's luncheon today held at the Sun 'n Fun complex on Fruitville Road.

February 5 - Thursday

February 7 - Saturday

There were over 33 from Orange Acres attended the Jamboree at the Christian Retreat in Bradenton.

There were over 60 people attended the vesper service tonight.

February 9 - Monday

Gene and Pam Rickels of Sarasota celebrated their 50th anniversary Feb. 6,2004. They were married Feb. 6, 1954, in Chippenham, Willshire, England. They have wintered in Sarasota for six years. They are the parents of Paul Rickels of Arlington, Texas, Carl Rickels of Knoxville, Tenn., and Corey Snyder of Manhattan Beach, Calif. The couple have nine grandchildren. They celebrated with a cruise to the Bahamas. Mr. Rickels retired from the Air Force in Columbus, Ohio, where he was with the auditor general for 20 years. He received a Commendation Medal and served in Germany, England and Japan. Mr. and Mrs. Rickels are members of First Baptist Church in Sarasota.

There were 160 at the 50th anniversary party tonight. The rain kept some away.

Those that couldn't lift the loads took care of sorting and labeling the items. There was plenty of work for everyone.

This Picture was taken at Siesta Key Beach about 4:30 pm today. There is no sign of red tide so the beach party tomorrow should be great. Don't forget to get there early to beat the crowds.

There were 19 at the beach party today. It couldn't have been a better day and the food was terrific.

February 29 - Sunday

Ray Bowman celebrated his 86th birthday today at Manor Care with eight friends from Orange Acres. Shown from left are Lyle and Gladys Moore, Ann Hubert, Felecia and Bill Weymouth, Edie Hohler and Gladys Bowman. Gene Mathes took the picture. Ray's room mate arrived later.

Everyone had cake and ice cream while Ray opened his birthday cards. Ray's Birthday is not until Wednesday, March 3rd, but today was the best time to get the people together.
