February 2 - Sunday

There were about 140 attended the second 'Jamboree in the Park' today at 2 pm. The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time singing and listening to the music.

Music was provided by Lew Gorzycki on the base, Jean Cutbirth on the keyboard, Dick Vierus on guitar and Gene Mathes on the mandolin.

Melva Mathes joined Gene in singing some duets.  Alice Vierus also joined in on a quartet number with dick, Gene and Melva.

February 4 - Tuesday

There were 154 at coffee this morning. After coffee, four couples did a square dancing demonstration on the stage. There will be square dance lessons in the hall on Saturday, February 8 at 7 pm. Everyone is invited.

Joan Kapp introduced new residents Ron and Gerry Shadle at 111 Loren Drive. They met one another in Iowa where they both grew up. They eventually moved to Michigan. They came to Florida a year ago.

Joan also introduced Margaret Rapoza who lives at lot 124 with her husband John, who was unable to be here this morning. They came here on June 28, 2002. They both love the beach which is one reason they are here.

Joan introduced Elizabeth Chase who, with her husband Paul reside at lot 164. Paul also works and could not be at coffee. They are from Rhode Island and came here on March 2, 2002.

Mary Ryman introduced Pat and Reg Tays of 51 Jeffrey drive. They are from Toronto, Ontario Canada. Reg works on Habitat for Humanity homes while he is here.

Nancy Bush introduced Larry and Betty Royston who bought their home on 215 Jason Drive in March of 2002. They came here from Bristol, Tennessee. They love it here so much that they may just rent their home up north and stay here year around.

Ila Meehan recognized Bob Gordon for his decorating of the hall for for all the holidays for the past nineteen years.

Ila also recognized Lou Walton for helping with the decorating and setting up the tables and chairs for the past eleven years.

Bob and Joy Moore's home was brought in today and placed on their lot.

There were nine people made the trip to the mall on their bicycles. They were, left to right, Kent & Ramona Armstrong, Nancy & Ralph Bush, Lorraine & George Labonte, Mary & Jim Lessard and Gene Mathes. This picture was taken in front of a mural in the mall.
