December 2 - Tuesday

There were 112 at coffee this morning.

Mary Ryman introduced Mary Cowan this morning. Mary lives at 26 Jeffrey Drive and came to us from Pennsylvania in August of this year. She has 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Trudy, scouted the area and picked out Orange Acres for Mary. Mary loves crafts, sewing, quilting and crocheting.

Here Mary introduced Rhoda Kestenbaum. Rhoda lived in Hollywood Florida for 53 years. She is here because she met Amo Kimball and Shirley Gallop through Eastern Star. She is a year around resident and lives at 56 Jeffrey Drive. She has three children, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She loves to travel and has been to 42 countries.

Introduced, also, were Jeanette and George Bradburn at 65 Loren Drive. They originally came from  Indiana. They have 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. They moved here in March of this year from Arizona to be near their son and Daughter-in-law. Jeanette's hobbies include handwork, going to craft shows and Taking of her sister, Charlotte. Georges hobbies are working on cars and fishing.

December 5 - Friday

There were three people took the Bike Ride to the Mall today. They were Gene Mathes Tom Studer and Ralph Haas. The ride back was cool but fun.

You can see some of this group at the gazebo almost every night. It is really nice now with the Christmas lights up.

December 6 - Saturday

The day was cold but a few got in the pool in spite of the cover (which is now full of holes.)

December 7 - Sunday

There were about 30 people attended the Jamboree in the Park today. It was held in the clubhouse because of the cold weather. Here are Dick Vierus and Gene Mathes singing with Tony Zarrillo and Lew Gorzycki in the background. Lots of Christmas song were enjoyed by the audience.

There were 106 on hand for the Christmas party tonight at the clubhouse.

The Emcees for the night were Tom & Pat Myers. They did a great job as usual.

Anne Hubert put together a grand chorus for the evening.

When the chorus sang "Merry Christmas Polka", Bev Ferritto and Jerry Meehan did the polka down the isle.

December 14 - Sunday

Mary Rietdorf welcomed a group of 47 residents to our Christmas Vespers tonight.

December 16 - Tuesday

Sheriff Deputy Lt. David Hart was at coffee this morning and spoke about citizen patrols and law enforcement. Videos were taken as part of a nation wide program on law enforcement.

There was a good group went on the Trolley Tour of Lights tonight.

There were 94 at coffee this morning. Some have already gone north for Christmas.

Jeff Warrington Announced that a new heating system has been installed in the pool. He also talked about thefts in the community and that we should report any suspicious activity.

Mary Ryman introduced Elaine Saprito, 190 Jeffrey Drive. She has three children who live in this area and three grandchildren.

Mary also introduced Jean Lauer of 99 Loren Drive. Jean has been here 8 years and never introduced because she didn't attend coffee. Jean has three children and three grandchildren.
